Happy Re-New Year!
Many of us look forward to the new year because of the opportunity it brings to start new adventures or end bad habits. Despite our well-meant intentions and ambitious lists of goals for the new year, by January 15th many of us are back to our daily routine with more regrets than accomplishments. For this reason, I initially did not set any resolutions for 2010. I abandoned my usual process of reflecting on the victories gained the previous year, and setting new goals that would build upon those victories. But on January 6th, I realized while everyone around me was going full throttle into the new year, I was running on fumes. Not good.
So here I am, attempting a do-over for the start of 2010. My resolutions for the year? Just one: To get my voice back. Those who TRULY know me understand what I mean. Not sure when or why, but somewhere along my journey I’ve become much less vocal than I once was. My thoughts, perspectives, opinions and beliefs have not waned, they’ve just become hidden from the rest of the world as they remain in my head and on the pages of my journals. I know I have a responsibility to inform and inspire those around me. So if I’m not sharing, I’m not bringing out the best in others.
Starting this blog is my first attempt at getting my voice back. The title is very intentional, because I’ve struggled with the double-edged sword of procrastination and perfectionism for years. I wait to ‘do’ until I know I can do it right. There are not enough hours in the day to keep living this way. I’m accepting that I may not get it right on the first try, but I’m much farther along by trying. And for that reason, I am a work in progress.
I once heard someone say there are two things that can change your life: the books you read, and the people you meet. On this blog, I want to highlight various books and people who encourage others to experience progress in their own lives. Some are renown authors and motivational speakers, others are members of my ‘inner circle of influence’ who are committed to transforming the world by living on purpose. Additionally, I will ‘sprinkle’ each posting with my voice, and I am encouraging others to do the same by submitting comments. I have NO CLUE how this blog will evolve over time. My only hope is that someone will become informed or inspired from this effort.
Enjoy!

Welcome Back!! The world has been missing you. I am inspired by you and have been since the summer of 1998, when I met you at M.A.G.I.C. I knew there was something different about you, but somewhere along the way, you forgot you were different and decorous – possessing traits and abilities to transform the authentic and synthetic. However, time and experience have brought you back to your first love. Fortunately, your first love never abandoned you and you two can pick up where you left off. So go ahead and have the love affair of a lifetime! Kevin will not mind. I love you, T. Up!!!
